Philanthropist Rosa Tran

Even as a child, Rosa was always interested in doing more for other people than for herself. Unlike most kids, she volunteered to help her mom around the house with cleaning and gardening. When she was older, she chose to become a dentist so she could dedicate her time and energy to improving people’s lives.

While running her two Orange County dental practices, Rosa found many opportunities to go above and beyond in making other people’s lives better, especially the under-resourced and overlooked. To this end, she participates in both local projects and ones that take her overseas to provide dental care to those who have no access to dentistry.

Rosa’s philanthropic activities include:

  • TongueOut Medical Service Trips
  • Toys for Tots
  • Youth For Human Rights
  • The Way to Happiness Book

TongueOut Medical Service Trips

Rosa has taken her dentistry skills to both Vietnam and Haiti as the lead dentist on multiple service trips to treat people with no access to dental care. She has discovered how simple it is, as a dentist, to change a person’s life just by resolving a painful, unhealthy dental condition.

Each holiday season, Rosa and her staff collect toys to make Christmas brighter for children in her community.

Youth for Human Rights

Working with this nonprofit group, Rosa has been able to educate the public on the provisions of the “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” published by the United Nations in 1948. Rosa feels it is essential for all people to understand the rights that are natively theirs.

  • The Way to Happiness Book

Understanding that many people have lost their way in today’s world, Rosa has provided extensive support for distribution of the common-sense, non-denominational moral code The Way to Happiness. This slim booklet, written by L. Ron Hubbard, provides 21 principles on how to lead a happier life and show others how to be happier, too. She and her staff hand out these books at Rosy Dental events to help uplift the entire community. To date, she and her team have handed out more than 25,000 copies of this book.
